Pile Protection System installed on Fuel Terminal

HCL’s Corrosion Protection to Piles was selected for MOD Fueling Jetty at Plymouth. Protect was for all the vertical piles for the new Jetty installation which comprised of: Ø711mm x 36 piles Ø1542mm x 14 piles, Vertical Protection from 2.6m to 4.38m, 360° Inspection Windows for 18qty random selected, and Protection of Horizontal Barrier Joints Ø1016mm

Products Used

The HCL Pile Protection System is comprised of 6 simple components, Petrolatum Paste, Petrolatum Tape, 2mm HDPE Outer Armour & Edging Strip (to protect the seal) and 19mm or 32mm Smart Band Hybrid system (Width dependant on Pile Diameter) made from POM material. Smart Band is secured using either the 2000 or 1000 Hand Tools

360 Degree Inspection

The need for continued monitoring and inspection of the substrate is well catered for with the HCL Pile Wrap system with the ability to include a full 360° inspection jacket. Positioned at a recommended 10% of locations on the project and featuring re-usable jackets this facility provides fast and efficient inspections. The simple steps for removing, inspecting and reinstalling the HDPE outer armour are outlined below.
